Prior to the launch of CeraVe, a growing body of research indicated that many skin problems (acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis…) were linked to a drop in the levels of ceramides, ingredients naturally present in the skin.
In 2005, a dedicated panel of certified dermatologists decided to take advantage of this undeniable scientific data to develop a new technology containing ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II, identical to those found in the skin and whose deficiency is known to be linked to many skin diseases, fatty acids and other lipids, combined with a revolutionary delivery system called MVE for Multi-Vesicular-Emulsion.

This combination of skin-identical CERAmids and MVE technology has given rise to CeraVe, therapeutic skincare that is affordable and accessible to all.
